NoiseAware’s NoiseAlerts are arguably the most powerful piece of information we give you, we are glad you're here to learn more about what to do when you receive them. You can receive alerts in 3 different ways:
- Text Message
- Push Notifications
A NoiseAlert is what happens when sustained noise levels breach your property’s thresholds (link word to thresholds article). We won’t send a NoiseAlert for a very short loud noise so if you get a NoiseAlert, noise levels at your property are above your set approved levels.
When you get a NoiseAlert you should log into your NoiseAware mobile app or NoiseAware Web Dashboard and take a look at the property’s graph to see how the noise has been trending. If it is already below your threshold it is ok to not take any action or message guests. If noise is staying high or increasing, you should message the guest on the reservation one of the suggested texts below or something similar. You can message them via text, the OTA messaging app, or your property management system if you have one. If you have already interacted with them through these mediums during their stay it should be received in a timely manner. If not, try to text directly.
If you want to skip this step and just send a polite text reminding them about your property’s quiet hours, that is ok too.
Here is some suggested text copy to use when communicating with the guest:
Text #1:
- "Hi [Guest Name], I hope your stay is going well! I did receive a noise alert from my noise monitoring device, and wanted to check in. My building/neighborhood is pretty strict about noise issues so I'm passing this info along as a friendly reminder. I hope you are enjoying [City Name] and want to make sure you have a great stay at my place. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you!"
Text #2:
- "Hello <Guest's Name>, this is your second warning. Our noise monitoring service is still indicating that there is elevated noise at the property. I'm reaching out to remind you to please respect our quiet hours during your stay. Complaints may result in fines. Our peaceful community is sensitive to noise and we don't want to have any issues with neighbors or local law enforcement. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your stay more enjoyable."
