Setting Up the Outdoor Sensor
The first step in the setup process is to unscrew the mounting bracket of the Outdoor sensor from the battery casing.
Once you have separated the two, remove the battery tab reading Remove Before Use along with both batteries.
Plug in one battery and make sure the LED light flashes three times after one battery is fully inserted.
When you have confirmed the LED light flashed, insert the second battery and wait 5 minutes before attempting to configure your outdoor sensor through the app. This 5 minute timeframe will make the in-app setup a seamless process.
*NOTE* Keep this outdoor sensor within 5 feet of the indoor sensor through the setup process until you are prompted to mount your sensor!
After 5 minutes has passed, continue with the Outdoor sensor setup with the outdoor sensor within 5 feet of the indoor sensor.
Begin by logging into the NoiseAware app and tapping the three stacked lines at the top left of your screen.
Select Setup sensor from the side menu
Select Outdoor sensor
Select Begin setup
You will now be prompted to remove the battery tab from your outdoor sensor.
This should already be done if you followed the first step. If not, please go back to the beginning of this article, "How to Install your Outdoor Sensor" and start from there.
If you have already removed the battery tab and waited 5 minutes, select Next in the bottom right corner.
Find your Property (the one you made for your Indoor sensor).
Then you will need to enter the Serial address on the back of the Outdoor sensor, located below the batteries. Create your Sensor name so that you can easily identify the Outdoor sensor.
Select Next in the bottom right corner.
The sensor is now connecting to the indoor sensor. This could take up three minutes before completing.
*NOTE* If you are receiving a time out issue, please check if this outdoor sensor is showing as Online from your sensor page. It is possible the application timed out while your sensor was updating, and it may be online.
You will receive the following message once the sensor has successfully been added.
When you have completed the setup of the sensor, you will now need to mount your sensor.
Take the battery casing and screw it back into the Outdoor sensor mounting bracket that you removed at the very beginning of the setup.
You can either mount the sensor using the wood screw or mounting tape provided. For more detailed information on selecting the best location to mount your outdoor sensor, please read the article How to Mount your Outdoor Sensor.
Once you have your sensor mounted in the desired location, select Next.
Take a picture of the installation location of your outdoor sensor.
It is best to take a wide angle shot that includes the sensor and the environment. This will come in handy when reviewing any alerts from that property, and troubleshooting any potential issues.
